Where the AU Pro Volleyball championship stars played in college

Nebraska's Harper Murray on personal growth, goals for 2025 season

Over the course of four action-packed weeks, the top professional volleyball players from around the world gather to compete in the AU Pro Volleyball championship. 

In 2021, Athletes Unlimited partnered with USA Volleyball  to launch the sport's premier destination for pros, a league that functions like an all-star showcase. The 44 elite athletes divide into four different teams that change weekly, playing matches in Madison, WI and Omaha, NE until a team and individual champion are crowned. 

Ahead of the season kickoff on Friday Oct. 3, at 6:30 p.m. ET, check out which colleges the top returning stars and newcomers represented during their collegiate careers.

Brittany Abercrombie, Southern California

Brittany Abercrombie played at USC

The 2024 AU Pro Volleyball Champion is back on the court for her second season after registering 4.87 kills per set and 3.07 digs per set over 15 matches. 

Brittany Abercrombie has had quite the professional career, something that her Southern California primed her for. As a Trojan and two-time All Pac-12 performer, she amassed 1,037 kills on a .268 career clip with 274 digs and 268 blocks from 2014-17. 

Morgan Hentz, Stanford

As the three-time AU Pro Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year, Morgan Hentz holds quite the reputation entering the 2025 season. She's set to captain of one of the four teams for the first week of play.

Hentz played at Stanford from 2016-19 where she was a three-time AVCA First-team All-American selection. Her school record 2,310 career digs (fourth in Pac-12 history) helped lead the Cardinal team to three NCAA national championships and Pac-12 titles during her time on the Farm.

Sophie Fischer, Georgia

Welcome to AU Pro Volleyball, Sophie Fischer! 

Before playing on Love One Volleyball's Salt Lake City team this past season, Fischer was a Dawg.

As Georgia's golden girl, she was named the 2023 SEC Player of Year and earned All-SEC First-team honors three times. Fischer finished her collegiate career as the Dawgs' all-time leader in block assists and blocks per set and is one of the league's most highly-touted rookies entering the season. 

Brooke Nuneviller, Oregon

Brooke Nuneviller returns to AU Pro Volleyball after an impressive 2023 and 2024 campaign, accumulating 3.68 kills per set, 3.49 digs per set across 30 matches. 

Her versatility can be traced back to her years as an Oregon Duck from 2018-22. Nuneviller logged 1,530 kills,128.0 blocks and 135 service aces on the way to becoming Oregon's first player to receive three AVCA All-American distinctions and the first player in Pac-12 Conference history to reach 1,500 career kills and 2,000 career digs. 

Molly McCage, Texas

Molly McCage played for Texas

Molly McCage joined Athletes Unlimited in its inaugural 2021 season. The veteran is a two-time AU Pro Volleyball Blocker of the Year, boasting 2.35 kills per set and .69 blocks per set over 56 matches.

McCage was a standout middle blocker at Texas from 2012-15, earning AVCA All-American honors three times. She was a two-time team captain for the Longhorns and etched her name into the history books with the third most career blocks (459) and fourth most total blocks (498) in program history. 

Sydney Hilley, Wisconsin

Sydney Hilley is one of the league's most coveted setters and her stats and collegiate resume explain why.

After her second season with AU Pro Volleyball, she has totaled eight Match MVP selections with 11.31 assists per set and 2.54 digs per set across 30 matches. 

Hilley ran the show for the Badgers from 2017-21, racking up a program-record 6,138 assists with 349 blocks. She earned Big Ten Setter of the Year honors three times, and five AVCA All-American selections.  

Skylar Fields, Southern California

The 2025 season marks Skylar Fields' debut into the AU Pro Volleyball world. But her professional career began in 2023 while competing oversees and most recently with League One Volleyball's Salt Lake Team during the 2025 season. 

Fields spent most of her collegiate career at Southern California after transferring from Texas where she was named the 2019 Big 12 Freshman of the Year. She garnered three AVCA All-American honors as a Trojan and still holds the record for career 5.13 kills per set. 

Claire Chaussee, Louisville

Claire Chaussee sprang onto the the AU Pro Volleyball scene in 2023 when she tied the single match record with 27 kills. 

The power outside spent her collegiate years at Louisville where she totaled 1,232 kills with 565 digs and 124 blocks. Her 452 kills on a .304 clip earned her the 2022 ACC Player of the Year title and first-team AVCA All American recognition.
