OKC delivered once again, serving a an instant classic between No. 3 Texas Tech and No. 2 UCLA through nine innings to set the semifinal field in the WCWS.

The Red Raiders survived the nine-inning marathon, 8-7, in the rematch of the 2025 WCWS semifinal against UCLA, which was played on the exact date just a year ago.
Texas Tech struck first from a Laura Allfred RBI single before the Bruins answered with a Jordan Woolery two-run homer in the bottom of the first frame. It didn't take long for the Red Raiders to take their lead back, plating two runs in the next inning from Jasmyn Burns' 18th blast of the year and an RBI walk to earn the 3-2 edge.

They added onto their lead through the next four innings, boasting a 6-3 advantage entering the bottom of the seventh as UCLA faced its final three outs and elimination with pinch-hitter Ramsey Suarez entering the box.
The redshirt junior knocked her eighth round-tripper of the year to give the Bruins life, and two outs later, Woolery clutched up with another two-run blast to send the game into extras with a 6-6 knot.

The two were held scoreless in the eighth as UCLA's ace Taylor Tinsley remained in the circle and Texas Tech's NiJaree Canady came in for former-Bruin Kaitlyn Terry. The Red Raiders danced between the two pitchers all night, working to find a rhythm to slow the dynamic Bruin offense.

In storybook fashion, Terry knocked an RBI-double to grab the go-ahead run against her former team in the top of the ninth before scoring on an error by the UCLA shortstop.
Terry then returned to the circle in the bottom of the frame, but after Woolery hit an RBI single to put the Bruins within one, Canady came back in. The 2025 USA Softball Player of the Year proved her dominance, retiring two Bruins with a pop-up and a strikeout to end the contest.

The Red Raiders eliminate UCLA from the WCWS.
Terry and Canady combined for 14 strikeouts on the night to secure their team's spot in the semifinals for the second year in a row, facing No. 1 Alabama tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET
Also earning a spot in the semifinals today was No. 1 Texas. Teagan Kavan put on a masterclass for the Longhorns in the pitchers' duel, tossing a complete game while holding Nebraska to four hits to earn the 3-1 win.
The Huskers' sole run came from Jordy Frahm's leadoff homer in the first as the two-way player battled in the circle to keep Texas scoreless until the bottom of the sixth when Longhorn junior Katie Stewart blasted a three-run shot to keep the reigning national champions alive.
Texas held onto the lead and secured the win to face No. 2 Tennessee tomorrow at 12 p.m. ET.
