College Football Playoff rankings predictions: What Week 14's CFP top 25, bracket could look like

How the NEW College Football Playoff format will work in 2025-26

The fourth College Football Playoff rankings of 2025 — Week 14’s edition — are up next, and things will be interesting as the committee reacts to no losses from the top-14 teams. Before the rankings are unveiled by the CFP committee, I predict where each potential top 25 team could land.

The fourth of six CFP top 25 reveals happens on Tuesday, Nov. 25. Ahead of the announcement, here's a prediction of how the committee could rank its top 25 teams. Note that these are my predictions and mine alone. I take a look at head-to-head results, schedule strength, games against ranked teams, and more to help rank the teams as I think the CFP committee will do so. You can read the .

College Football Playoff rankings predictions: The first top 25 projections | Week 14

These predictions are as of Sunday, Nov. 23.

  1. Ohio State (11-0) | LW: 1 — Ohio State had another dominant performance against Rutgers to hang on to the top spot.
  2. Indiana (11-0) | LW: 2 — Indiana will stay No. 2 after a bye.
  3. Texas A&M (11-0) | LW: 3 — Texas A&M stays put after beating an FCS school.
  4. Georgia (10-1) | LW: 4 — Georgia won’t move after a win over Charlotte.
  5. Texas Tech (10-1) | LW: 5 — Texas Tech stays put after a bye week.
  6. Ole Miss (10-1) | LW: 6 — Ole Miss had a bye a stays put.
  7. Oregon (10-1) | LW: 7 — Oregon beat a ranked USC team, but I don’t think that's enough to move the Ducks past other one-loss teams. Of the one-loss teams ranked above it, Oregon has the worst best win.
  8. Oklahoma (9-2) | LW: 8 — Oklahoma stays at eight after picking up a then-ranked win over Missouri.
  9. Notre Dame (9-2) | LW: 9 — Notre Dame’s win over Pitt looks better after the Panthers beat Georgia Tech last week, but that won’t be enough to move the Fighting Irish up in the rankings.
  10. Alabama (9-2) | LW: 4 — Alabama beat an FCS team and will stay ranked in the top 10.
  11. BYU (10-1) | LW: 12 — BYU beat Cincinnati and will remain the first team out this week.
  12. Miami (FL) (9-2) | LW: 13 — Miami is still looking consistent after its third straight win. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hurricanes moved in front of teams it was ranked behind for the third straight week, especially with a potential ranked-loss returning to the resume this week.
  13. Utah (9-2) | LW: 12 — Utah narrowly escaped Kansas State, which could create a position where the Utes drop a spot.
  14. Texas (7-3) | LW: 17 — Texas will move to at least No. 15 after teams ranked 15 and 16 both lost. That means the Longhorns will be one spot behind Vanderbilt. That could put Texas and Vanderbilt in the same pool of teams during the committee's evaluation process. Head-to-head will matter, placing the Longhorns back in front of the Commodores, even with three losses.
  15. Vanderbilt (9-2) | LW: 14 — Vanderbilt won’t move the needle after a win over Kentucky.
  16. Michigan (9-2) | LW: 18 — Michigan moves up after beating Maryland to enter The Game with two losses. The Wolverines stay in range of a potential playoff spot.
  17. Virginia (9-2) | LW: 19 — UVA moves up two spots after a bye, poised for an ACC Championship Game berth.
  18. Pittsburgh (8-3) | LW: NR — Pitt jumps from unranked last week to inside the top 20 after a statement win over Georgia Tech. Keep in mind, two weeks ago, the committee saw Pitt as the No. 22 team. They likely had Pitt on the edge of the rankings last week. Now the Panthers are back.
  19. Tennessee (8-3) | LW: 20 — Tennessee ranks No. 19 after impressively beating Florida.
  20. Georgia Tech (9-2) | LW: 16 — Georgia Tech was only ranked 16th as a one-loss team. After the way the Yellow Jackets lost at home, they’ll drop out of the top 20 based on how the committee already viewed them.
  21. Southern California (8-3) | LW: 15 — USC will drop outside of the top 20 after a 15-point loss to Oregon.
  22. Tulane (9-2) | LW: 24 — Tulane moves up after teams ranked No. 21-23 all lost.
  23. Arizona State (8-3) | LW: 25 — Arizona State moves up after beating Colorado.
  24. SMU (8-3) | LW: NR — SMU blasted Louisville 38-6. Louisville was a team that was on the committee’s radar a few weeks ago, so the committee probably took note of SMU’s win. The Mustangs are ranked.
  25. Arizona (8-3) | LW: NR — The last spot in the rankings could be between Arizona, North Texas, Washington, North Texas or James Madison. I went with the Wildcats, and I think the committee will too. Arizona is on a four-game win streak, which includes a ranked win.

Dropping out: No. 21 Illinois, No. 22 Missouri, No. 23 Houston

Notable College Football Playoff rankings questions

Is Oregon’s win enough to move past Ole Miss?

I don’t think Oregon’s win over USC outweighs Ole Miss’ win over Oklahoma, and I don’t think the committee will either. If they think otherwise, then the Ducks could move past the Rebels.

ROOKIE SENSATIONS: College football's top 30 freshmen so far this season

Will Miami move up again?

Miami has moved in front of Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech over the last two weeks without beating a ranked opponent. Is Utah next on the list? The Hurricanes could have an improved resume with SMU’s potential ranking. If Miami moves in front of Utah, will that be enough to get the Hurricanes into the discussion with Notre Dame? Miami discussions will get more and more interesting down the stretch.
