Michigan, Duke move into top 5 in latest women's basketball Power 10 rankings

Here are Autumn Johnson's latest women's college basketball Power 10 rankings, for Feb. 16.

1. UConn (Prev. 1)

The Huskies have yet to skip a beat this season, bulldozing their way to 27-0 record. They beat Creighton by 50 in Wednesday and took down Marquette, 71-56.

2. UCLA (Prev. 2)

UCLA upped its win streak to 19 this week, sitting atop the Big Ten standings with another ranked win under its belt against Michigan State, 86-63, as well as a win vs. Indiana, 92-48.

3. South Carolina (Prev. 3)

South Carolina coach Dawn Staley reached a new milestone this week with 500 wins as the Gamecocks picked up their 18th consecutive win vs. LSU.

4. Michigan (Prev. 9)

The Wolverines sky into the top 5, snagging a ranked win over Michigan State. They sit at the No. 2 spot in the Big Ten standings, and three of their four losses have come against top-5 foes β€”  UConn, UCLA and Vanderbilt β€” all decided by three points.

It’s time to start considering Michigan a top-5 team.

5. Duke (Prev. 7)

Duke knocked off in-state rival North Carolina to keep its 16-game winning streak alive in the ACC.

The Blue Devils have cracked the code to shake off early-season woes.

6. Vanderbilt (Prev. 5)

It's been an up and down week for the Commodores.

They defeated Texas, their second top-5 victory of the season, to be in the conversation for a No. 1 seed in the first Top 16 reveal of 2026. It's now a different story after falling to unranked Georgia on Sunday.

7. LSU (Prev. 6)

LSU suffered its fourth loss of the season on Saturday to South Carolina, 79-72.

Yet, considering the Tigers' other losses and how close the game was against the No. 3 team in the country, I only dropped LSU one spot.

8. Texas  (Prev. 4)

The Longhorns struggled in their double-digit loss to Vanderbilt, 86-70, and then barely escaped Tennessee, 65-63.

THURSDAY RECAP: TCU's Miles scores 40 to lift the Horned Frogs past Baylor, Blakes drops 34 in Top-5 showdown

9. Louisville (Prev. 8)

Louisville had a quiet week with two ACC wins over Wake Forest and Florida State.

10. TCU (Prev. NR)

Welcome back, TCU. The Horned Frogs picked up back-to-back ranked wins over No. 12 Baylor and No. 19 West Virginia

OUT

Ohio State (Prev. 10)

The Buckeyes lost against ranked Maryland on Sunday.
