To kick off April and thank you for subscribing to Parlier's Perimeter Defense, we wanted to share some tips with you.

1. Leave the lights on even when you aren't home, especially if you have a basketball hoop on your property. This invites the neighborhood children to play basketball in a safe, lit environment and keep intruders away and focused on deserted, dark houses.

2. Display the flag of your favorite local college out front. This will let people know that someone who loves college sports lives here, and it may give intruders a chance to think twice about whether they love the same team as you do.

3. When travelling out of town, tell a trusted neighbor to keep an eye on your house. This is what we call team defense. Ensure that your neighbor is vigilant, understands the difference between man and zone defense, and isn't likely to get into foul trouble.
