College football Week 7: Schedule, Top 25 rankings, preview and more
🤔 When will the undefeated's fall?
Fifteen teams remain unblemished through Week 6, three more than last season. Our own Stan Becton predicted when each undefeated will suffer their first loss of the year.
Here are the four teams he has going down in Week 7:
*Undefeated teams are bolded
- No. 6 Oklahoma vs. Texas
- While Texas dropped out of the AP poll for the first time since 2023 this past week, it is still a dangerous team that will certainly be amped for a rivalry matchup with the Sooners. The Longhorn's season could be on the line this weekend, as no team made the College Football Playoff last season with three losses.
- No. 7 Indiana at No. 3 Oregon
- One team must walk away with their first loss in this matchup, and Becton predicts the Hoosiers will fall in a tough road match with the Ducks. In Indiana's only road game this season, it squeezed past a the Big Ten's worst passing offense by just five points. Curt Cignietti's squad will have a tall hill to climb if they want to escape Eugene undefeated.
- No. 14 Missouri vs. No. 8 Alabama
- The Tide are one of the hottest teams in the nation, knocking off Georgia on the road before taking down Vanderbilt last weekend. Missouri hasn't been tested this season, owning the worst strength of schedule in the SEC.
- North Texas vs. No. 24 South Florida
- North Texas has the 132nd ranked strength of schedule — fifth worst in the FBS. Meanwhile, South Florida has already taken down two ranked teams in Boise State and Florida, while also suffering a loss to now-No. 2 Miami. The Bulls have been battle-tested far more then the Mean Green, and in a strong American conference vying for a Group of 5 CFP bid, this game could be pivotal come December.

🤩 Oregon and WNBA superstar named as guest picker
Sabrina Ionescu, was announced as the guest picker for College GameDay this weekend in Eugene. Ionescu was a standout member of Oregon's women's basketball team from 2016-20 before being selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA draft by the New York Liberty.
Fired up to have Oregon legend and WNBA champion Sabrina Ionescu back in Eugene as this week's guest picker! 👏

📝 Tracking the undefeated
After Week 6, we are down to just 15 undefeated programs in the FBS with five falling in Week 6. At this time last season, 12 were still standing.
Here are a few of the top games to watch featuring undefeated programs:
*Undefeated team is bolded and times are Eastern
- No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 7 Indiana 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11
- With both squads undefeated, this is the only game of the week that guarantees a team getting knocked off the list.
- No. 8 Alabama at No. 14 Missouri, Noon on Saturday, Oct. 11
- The Tigers are off to a hot start, but they have a historic metaphorical mountain to climb on Saturday. The Tide has won six-straight against Mizzou, with the Tigers' last win over Bama back in 1975.
- North Texas vs. No. 24 South Florida, 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10
- This is the Mean Green's toughest matchup of the season. USF has already taken down Florida and Boise State this season, and both teams are in a tightly contested American conference, vying for the Group of 5 CFP spot. If North Texas prevails, it is in the driver's seat in the American, avoiding No. 23 Memphis in the regular season.
- No. 6 Oklahoma vs. Texas, 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11
- Yes, Texas has floundered, but the Sooners could be without starting quarterback John Mateer. The Red River Rivalry is known to deliver weird games, so keep an eye on Dallas this weekend.

🚍 GameDay headed to Eugene
The ESPN College GameDay crew is headed to Eugene, Oregon for the only top 10 matchup of the week between No. 3 Oregon and No. 7 Indiana. The two teams have only met three times in their long history and just once this century in 2004.
The Ducks are coming off a bye week, two weeks removed from upsetting then-No. 3 Penn State in Happy Valley in 2OT. It seems as though Dan Lanning has found another gem under center, as Dante Moore has propelled himself to the top of Heisman discussions with 14 touchdowns and just one interception through five games. The redshirt sophomore has been sacked just once all season and is connecting on almost 75% of his passes.
On the opposite sideline, the Hoosiers are once again putting together another strong season, ranked in the top 10 in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history. College football fans should be in store for a quarterback duel with Indiana's Fernando Mendoza, also sitting atop the Heisman watch. He has thrown for 16 touchdowns to just one interception, also tacking on two scores with his legs.
However, as shiny as the two quarterbacks have looked this season, each will be facing a top-10 pass defense in the FBS. Oregon's is second in the nation, allowing a ridiculously low 104.8 passing yards per game, while Indiana sits at eighth, allowing 157.3. The Big Ten clash will feature two top-10 scoring offenses versus two top-10 scoring defenses, making this afternoon matchup must-watch TV.
Next stop: Eugene, Oregon 🦆
