🏅UCLA gets its first win in historic fashion
No. 7 Penn State falls for the second week in a row. The Nittany Lions went into the Rose Bowl and could never find that last gear. UCLA scored a touchdown on the first drive of the game and never relinquished the lead as the Bruins become the first 0-4 team to beat an AP Top 10 team since 1985.

🥵 Virginia beats Louisville in OT
Another week, another heart pounding overtime win for Virginia. Chandler Morris bullied his way through defenders for a UVA first down, setting up J'Mari Taylor, who punched it in the end zone on a direct-snap alongside backup quarterback Daniel Kaelin for the win.

Western Carolina’s Taron Dickens was unbelievable for any level of football, as the FCS QB completed his first 46 passes against Wofford. Dickens broke the previous record when he hit 30 completions and just kept going for an impossible 46-46 for 325 yards and a new NCAA and FCS record.

🍿 Hurdles, safeties and no shoes?

It was no shoe, no problem in Nebraska as Nyziah Hunter scored a 59-yard touchdown on a screen pass — even after losing a shoe mid-play.

In Montana and Illinois, we saw some players jumping for joy as they hurdled into the endzone. Montana State running back Julius Davis leapt over a Northern Arizona defender en route to a touchdown. So did North Dakota State quarterback Cole Payton, leaping over a defender of his own against Illinois State.

⌛️ Another OT win for the Cavaliers
No. 24 Virginia 30, Louisville 27
No. 24 Virginia handed Louisville its first loss of the season, winning 30–24 in overtime to avoid the upset. The defeat also snapped the Cavaliers three-game losing streak over the Cardinals and marked their first win in the series since 2021. Despite outgaining Virginia 383–237, Louisville was undone by a pair of costly turnovers that both turned into defensive touchdowns.
Virginia’s Donovan Platt opened the scoring with a 61-yard fumble return, and later, linebacker Kam Robinson intercepted Miller Moss for a 47-yard pick-six that gave the Cavaliers a 10-point lead entering the fourth quarter. Louisville’s offense struggled in the third quarter, managing just 37 yards and punting on four of five drives as Virginia built its advantage.
The Cardinals mounted another late comeback behind quarterback Miller Moss and receiver Chris Bell. Moss threw for 329 yards and two touchdowns, while Bell posted a career-high 170 yards on 12 receptions, including a 13-yard touchdown with 9:41 left. Cooper Ranvier’s 50-yard field goal tied the game with just over a minute to play, forcing overtime.
In the extra period, Louisville had to settle for a short field goal after a crucial third-down catch by Isaac Brown was overturned. When Virginia got the ball, running back J’Mari Taylor powered in a 2-yard touchdown to end the game.

🫨 Chaos in the mid afternoon games
The second slate of games once again offered another round of big upsets, close matches and general craziness. Take a look at how the Top 10 has been shaken up.
UCLA 42, No. 7 Penn State 37
Unranked UCLA stunned No. 7 Penn State with a 42–37 upset — the biggest of the 2025 season and the first time an 0-4 team beat an AP Top 10 since 1985. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava, a Tennessee transfer, led the charge with five total touchdowns and 128 rushing yards, snapping UCLA’s 16-game losing streak against AP top-10 opponents.
The Bruins jumped out to an early 10–0 lead thanks to a bold onside kick. Late drama unfolded when UCLA failed a fourth-and-inches attempt, giving Penn State a chance to win in Bruins territory, but Drew Allar was stopped short in the final minute. UCLA then took an intentional safety to seal the win.
The second straight loss ended Penn State’s 34-game streak against unranked opponents.

No. 10 Alabama 30, No. 16 Vanderbilt 14
No. 10 Alabama held off No. 16 Vanderbilt 30–14 to put an end to the Commodores' undefeated season and avenge last year’s upset in Nashville. It was a 14-14 game at the half, but the Crimson Tide shut out Vanderbilt in the second half, relying on three field goals from Conor Talty and a 20-yard touchdown run by Jam Miller on fourth down to seal the victory.
Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia committed two costly turnovers — a first-quarter red zone fumble and a fourth-quarter interception with his team down six — that swung momentum in Alabama’s favor. The Tide brought out the big guns once again, using 350-pound lineman Kadyn Proctor as a ball carrier, converting a key 3rd-and-1 late in the game.

Florida 29, No. 9 Texas 21
Florida snapped a three-game losing streak with a 29–21 upset over No. 9 Texas, off a bounce back performance by quarterback DJ Lagway. The freshman threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns on 21-of-28 passing, connecting six times with Dallas Wilson, who tallied 111 yards and two scores.
The Gators’ offense finally came alive with 457 total yards, while their defense stifled Arch Manning, forcing two interceptions and multiple sacks late in the fourth quarter to preserve the win. The victory marks a much-needed turnaround for Florida (2–3) after a sluggish start to the season.

Chris Bell makes an incredible one-handed, back shoulder grab at the pylon, just sneaking into the endzone for the Louisville touchdown. The Cardinals now only trail Virginia 24-21 in the fourth as they look to keep their undefeated record intact.

⬇️ Top 10 teams in trouble at the half
The second slate of games is proving to be difficult for a trio of top 10 teams. No. 7 Penn State, No. 9 Texas and No. 10 Alabama are all searching for a lead coming out the half.
UCLA looking for an upset
UCLA has been the biggest surprise of the afternoon as the winless Bruins entered the half up 27-7 over Penn State coming off its first loss of the season. UCLA has 285 total yards at the half to Penn State’s 92 and has nearly doubled the Nittany Lions time of possession.

Longhorns are in trouble in the swamp
Another Top 10 team struggling on the road, Florida jumped out to a 10-point lead, before Texas responded with a touchdown from Quintrevion Wisner. The Gators then scored another nine unanswered, highlighted by a blocked punt by the special teams through the back of the end zone for a safety.
Texas had only allowed five red zone visits all season from opposing offenses coming into the game. Florida is 3-3 from the red zone today for a 19-7 lead.

It's tied in Tuscaloosa
No. 16 Vanderbilt is looking for its first win in Tuscaloosa since 1984 while No. 10 Alabama is trying to avenge its loss in Nashville from last season. The Crimson Tide and the Commodores are deadlocked at 14-14 entering the break.
Both teams have scored a touchdown off turnovers. Ty Simpson threw his first interception of the season on the opening drive while Diego Pavia fumbled on Alabama’s eight-yard line. However, both quarterbacks recovered, scoring touchdowns under two minutes in the second quarter.

The Hoyas pulled off a miracle with a Hail Mary touchdown pass to take down Morgan State 27-24. Quarterback Dez Thomas II threw the ball 50 yards in the air to Jimmy Kibble for the win!

👀 Vandy takes early lead in Tuscaloosa
The Commodores are not messing around on the road. Vandy defensive back Martel Hight gave Ty Simpson his first interception of the season before Sedrick Alexander rattled off a 65-yard rushing touchdown to give the 'Dores a 7-0 lead.

The noon window had lots of action and some exciting finishes. As the afternoon games kick off, let’s look back at the best moments from the noon slate:
Cincinnati upsets No. 14 Iowa State, 38-30
Cincinnati wasted no time against the No. 14 Cyclones, scoring on each of its first five possessions and taking a 31-15 lead into halftime. Iowa State came out of the locker room with a touchdown, but the offense stalled out on the next few drives. Cincinnati pulled away late in the fourth when Brendan Sorsby threw an 82-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Goodie to make it 38-22.

A late touchdown from the Cyclones cut into the lead, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit. Cincinnati RB Evan Pryor finished with 111 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Iowa State QB Rocco Becht had a solid outing in the loss, throwing for 314 yards and a touchdown, and he added two rushing TDs, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bearcats.
Navy outlasts Air Force in a shootout, 34-31
Navy and Air Force absolutely aired it out in this game, combining for 588 passing yards and five touchdowns through the air. The Midshipmen might have the top rushing offense in the country, but QB Blake Horvath delivered through the air today with 339 passing yards and three passing TDs, including this 80-yard dime to Eli Heidenreich in the second quarter.

Heidenreich finished with 243 yards on eight catches and three receiving touchdowns in a career-best performance. He now holds the Navy record for most career receiving touchdowns with 14, and he is the first player in Navy program history to have 200+ receiving yards in a game.
Baylor holds on against Kansas State, 35-34
Kansas State and Baylor went back and forth in an evenly-matched game that was tied 17-17 at the half. The Wildcats pulled away in the third with back-to-back touchdowns, but Baylor stormed back in the fourth with an 82-yard touchdown drive, two-point conversion and a pick-six to take a 32-31 lead.

Kansas State retook the lead with a late field goal, but Baylor answered AGAIN with a field goal of its own, leaving just 31 seconds on the clock. Avery Johnson led the Wildcats down the field, looking to set up the walk off field goal. A pass interference penalty on Baylor gave K-State a chunk of yards, and Johnson got it six-yards closer with five seconds on the clock. Sophomore kicker Luis Rodriguez lined up for the 55-yard field goal, but the Bears’ special teams came through with the block, sealing the win for Baylor.

No. 20 Michigan handles Wisconsin, 24-10
No. 20 Michigan takes down Wisconsin at home, winning 24-10. The Wolverines fell behind after a first-drive TD by the Huskers, but Michigan answered with a score on its first drive, and it took the lead with a second-quarter field goal and never looked back. Michigan WR Donaven McCulley was excellent for the Wolverines, hauling in six catches for 112 yards, including this impressive run after the catch for a third-quarter touchdown:

Michigan RB Justice Haynes dominated on the ground, piling up 117 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.
🌹UCLA gets its first lead
UCLA was the only team in the FBS to not hold a lead over any team this season. An 11-yard connection from Nico Iamaleava to Kwazi Gilmer on the opening drive put the Bruins up 7-0 over the visiting Nittany Lions.

Taron Dickens connects with James Tyre for his 41st consecutive completion to put the Catamounts back on top!
Through the end of the third quarter, Dickens has completed 42-of-42 passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns. It's continuing an impressive run for Dickens since he started his first game two weeks ago.
In his first start against Samford he went 35-of-46 (76.1%) for 582 yards and six touchdowns and in his second start against Campbell he went 26-of-40 (65%) for 427 yards and four touchdowns.
