College football Week 14: Schedule, CFP rankings, preview
🍿 Benches clear in Egg Bowl
As expected, tensions are high early in Starkville between both teams.
So much so that the benches cleared in the second quarter following an initial fumble by Ole Miss. The ball came loose after Trinidad Chambliss was hit while trying to throw, leading to a race for the football.
Mississippi State jumped on it, but while both teams fought it, tempers erupted, leading to the skirmish.
After both teams returned to their respective sidelines, three players received personal fouls, but no one was ejected. Additionally, the fumble call was overturned, giving the Rebels the ball back.

📝 Black Friday slate
Welcome to Week 14 of college football!
It's the day after Thanksgiving which means it's the official start of rivalry week. To get you prepared for the jam packed schedule this weekend, here's a preview of the games to watch tonight.
No. 7 Ole Miss at Mississippi State
Lane Kiffin's Rebels head to Starkville for the Egg Bowl, kicking off rivalry weekend today at 12 p.m. ET. The No. 7 Ole Miss team looks to solidify its spot in the College Football Playoffs with a win while the Bulldogs are motivated to spoil the Rebels' season.
No. 4 Georgia vs. No. 23 Georgia Tech
Georgia and Georgia Tech are set to face off at 3:30 p.m. ET at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Last year's game went to eight overtimes with the Dawgs edging the Jackets 44-42 in the thriller, extending Georgia win-streak over Tech to 25 years. Will the Jacket's historic season stay alive or will the Dawgs remain dominant?
No. 3 Texas A&M vs. No. 16 Texas
All eyes will be on Texas tonight as Texas A&M and Texas square off for the 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff. The undefeated Aggies come to Austin with one of the nation's most dominant offenses while the Longhorns are fighting to earn a spot in the final College Football Playoff rankings. This rivalry matchup will mark the first time the two have gone head-to-head in Austin since 2010 and will surely be one to watch.
Other games to keep an eye on:
🚍 College GameDay headed to the Big House
For the 11th time, the College GameDay crew is headed to The Game for the annual matchup between Ohio State and Michigan.
The defending national champions are trying to snap a four-game losing streak to the Wolverines as the Buckeyes look to complete an undefeated regular season. But Michigan, behind its 100,000-plus yellow and blue cladded fanbase, will certainly not go down easily.
The Wolverines came in at No. 15 in the latest CFP rankings, sitting on the outside of the 12-team playoff. However, a win over No. 1 could easily propel Michigan into the bracket, seriously shaking up the bubble teams heading into conference championship weekend.
One of the sport's biggest rivalries rarely disappoints, and all eyes will be on Ann Arbor at noon Saturday.

🍿 Week 14 games to watch
Welcome to Week 14! We have one of the best weekend slates of the season, and the stakes are higher than ever as many teams have their final shot to impress the CFP committee. Here are the biggest games of the holiday weekend that could have a serious impact on the CFP rankings:
Friday, Nov. 28
The action kicks off Friday with Mississippi State and Kansas trying to play spoiler to CFP hopefuls No. 7 Ole Miss and No. 13 Utah. The Utes are right on the edge of the bracket and will need a win to stay in the postseason conversation, and the Bulldogs would love nothing more than to spoil their in-state rivals' season in the Egg Bowl.
On Black Friday afternoon, No. 4 Georgia and No. 23 Georgia Tech battle in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The Yellow Jackets have an opportunity to get back in the CFP committee's good graces by knocking off the Bulldogs, while a win for Georgia will all but guarantee Kirby Smart's squad a playoff spot.
But save some room for the night slate in what could be the most pivotal game of the weekend between No. 3 Texas A&M and No. 16 Texas. The Longhorns can make a serious case to be the first three-loss team in the playoffs if they can take down the undefeated Aggies in Austin, and a win will shake up the SEC championship picture.
Saturday, Nov. 29
The action keeps rolling into Saturday with a noon kickoff for No. 1 Ohio State and No. 15 Michigan in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines have been a Week 14 thorn in the Buckeyes' side for four seasons now as the defending national champs look to snap the losing streak to their rival up north.
In the afternoon, No. 19 Tennessee hosts No. 14 Vanderbilt as the Commodores try to make their final push for a playoff spot. The Volunteers have won the past six matchups with Vandy, all by at least two scores. If Diego Pavia and company can walk out of Neyland Stadium with a win, it could be enough to push them into the top 12, especially if they get some rivalry weekend upsets in front of them in the rankings.
And the night game delivers again as No. 10 Alabama will walk into Jordan-Hare Stadium under the lights against Auburn in the Iron Bowl. The Tide have walked out of Auburn with a win the past two trips to Jordan-Hare, but not without drama. The last three Iron Bowls in Auburn have been decided by a combined eight points, and the Tigers will certainly give their best shot at popping the Crimson Tide's playoff bubble spot.
Here are the times and TV channels for some of the biggest games of the weekend:
- Friday, Nov. 28
- Saturday, Nov. 29
👀 Projected CFP brakcet
Here is what the College Football Playoff bracket would look like if the season ended this week:
No. 11 BYU is the only top 12 team bumped from the 12-team playoff to fit No. 24 Tulane, the projected fifth highest-ranked conference champion. Right now, the Big Ten and SEC hold the four first round byes with rivalry week and conference championships still to go.

| 15 | Michigan | 9-2 | 18 |
| 16 | Texas | 8-3 | 17 |
| 17 | USC | 8-3 | 15 |
| 18 | Virginia | 9-2 | 19 |
| 19 | Tennessee | 8-3 | 20 |
| 20 | Arizona State | 8-3 | 25 |
| 21 | SMU | 8-3 | NR |
| 22 | Pittsburgh | 8-3 | NR |
| 23 | Georgia Tech | 9-2 | 16 |
| 24 | Tulane | 9-2 | 24 |
| 25 | Arizona | 8-3 | NR |
Key takeaways
Fifth conference bid stays put. For the first time since the rankings started four weeks ago, the fifth highest-ranked conference team has remained the same. For the first three weeks, the last projected automatic bid changed each week. However, in the fourth rankings, Tulane held onto the 12-seed at No. 24 in the CFP rankings.
Top four holds. We saw no change in the top four heading into rivalry week. The top three have a path to their conference championships; however, Georgia at No. 4 does not control its own path to the SEC championship. If the Bulldogs win out but miss the SEC title game, could we see a team receive a bye without participation in a conference championship?
Georgia Tech drops seven spots. Pittsburgh put a wrench in the Yellow Jackets' postseason aspirations, and Georgia Tech dropped below two three-loss ACC teams, including the Panthers.
