Tracking undefeated women's volleyball teams in 2025

We are tracking all the remaining undefeated teams in DI women's volleyball for the 2025 season. There are still two undefeated. 

Since 1981, there have been only four programs β€” five teams β€” to finish a season undefeated and win a national title: Penn State (2008, 2009), Southern California (2003), Nebraska (2000) and Long Beach State (1998).

Penn State holds the longest win streak in DI women's volleyball history with 109 match victories from 2007-10, with the Nittany Lions winning four consecutive titles (2007 through 2010). The 2009 title team is the most recent undefeated champion.

Undefeated DI women's volleyball teams in 2025

Rankings are from the AVCA:

  • No. 1 Nebraska (17-0): The Huskers' started conference play with seven sweeps over Big Ten foes, most recently over Mighigan State on Friday, Oct. 17. Their 17-0 record is their best start since winning their first 27 matches in 2023. Next: at. Michigan on Sunday, Oct. 19.
  • No. 2 Texas (15-0): Texas earned its fifteenth win of the season against Arkansas on Friday. It's the first time since 2009 that the Longhorns has gone unbeaten in ten-straight ranked matches in the regular season. Next: vs. Oklahoma on Sunday, Oct. 19.
