Alabama's Doris Lemngole won the 2025 Bowerman as the most outstanding woman in track and field. Lemngole is the first athlete in Alabama history to win the Bowerman.
Lemngole won two NCAA titles in the indoor 5000 meters and outdoor 3000 meter steeplechase. She also set NCAA records in each event in 2025. Lemngole's cross country performance from the 2024 season doesn't count toward her resume for the Bowerman.

A record-breaking indoor opener 5000m
Two weeks after Doris Lemngole won the cross country individual title, she opened up her indoor track season at the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. There looked to be no fatigue in the star distance runner's legs, as she ran 14:52.57 across 5000 meters to set an NCAA record.
Top five 3000m all-time
Another trip to Boston saw another all-time mark for Lemngole, this time in the 3000 meters. Lemngole finished in 8:41.83 for the fifth-fastest time in NCAA history.

First title of 2025
Doris Lemngole entered the NCAA Championship meet as the collegiate record holder and the favorite in the 5000 meters. Lemngole didn't disappoint with a first place finish in 15:05.93. She would finish second in the 3000 meter final a day later.
First steeplechase record of the year
Doris Lemngole closed 2024's outdoor season with an NCAA record and title in the steeplechase, so expectations were high entering her sophomore season. She lived up to the hype in her steeplechase season debut, running 9:10.13 for a collegiate record.
East region dominance
The only person to run faster than Doris Lemngole at the East First Round meet in the steeplechase was herself. Lemngole's impressive season continued with the No. 2 3000 meter Steeplechase in NCAA history at the time, finishing in 9:13.12.
First woman under 9 minutes in NCAA history
8:58.15. It's the NCAA women's steeplechase record and it also makes Doris Lemngole the first woman in NCAA history to break nine minutes in the event. A historic ending to a historic season.
