The NCAA announced Gilman Gear as the official goal supplier for all NCAA lacrosse championships through the 2027 season. This ensures that NCAA lacrosse student-athletes will compete with the highest-quality game goals, reinforcing the NCAA’s commitment to excellence in collegiate athletics.
Gilman Gear is a 96-year-old manufacturing company based in Gilman, Connecticut. Its legacy product line is football field equipment. In 2017, it patented its lacrosse goal, famous for its ping, and it has become the best-selling lacrosse goal made in the United States.
David Clendenin, NCAA director of licensing, championships and alliances, expressed enthusiasm about the new supplier: “The NCAA is excited to work with Gilman, a company that delivers high-quality equipment for our student-athletes. This agreement ensures that NCAA lacrosse championships will have the highest standards of competition and provide an optimal playing experience for teams and officials at every championship event.”
Neil Gilman, president of Gilman Gear, said, “Gilman Gear is proud to partner with the NCAA for this prestigious event crowning the champions of both the men’s and women’s college lacrosse teams across all three divisions of the sport.
“It is altogether fitting and proper that the Gilman Goal be used in the NCAA championships because it met all the criteria set by the NCAA selection committee, and our mission is to grow and advance the sport of college lacrosse, and we believe that our agreement to supply lacrosse goals to the NCAA championships will add the highest level of professionalism to these prestigious events.”
