Tracking undefeated FBS college football teams in the 2025 season

How the college football national championship changed through the decades

Each season, 136 teams have the opportunity to complete the perfect season. Only six teams can still chase this dream, as Miami, Memphis, Texas Tech, and Ole Miss all fell in Week 8. Oregon was the last team remaining last season, not losing until the CFP quarterfinals.

Michigan was the last team to complete the perfect season, going 15-0 in 2023 and capturing the national championship.

POLLS: Check out the latest top 25 rankings

Here are the undefeated FBS teams:
*Teams are listed alphabetically, times are all Eastern. Rankings are from the AP Top 25 Poll

No. 11 BYU (8-0)

The Cougars are off to an 8-0 start for first time in program history after outlasting Iowa State, 41-27, in Week 8. Freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier eclipsed the 300-yard mark, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Kalani Sitake's squad heads to No. 14 Texas Tech in two weeks.

No. 7 Georgia Tech (8-0)

Brent Key has the Jackets at 8-0 for the first time since 1966 after beating Syracuse. Haynes King has continued to make his case as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation, tallying 19 total touchdowns with just one interception so far this season. Georgia Tech has a chance to head into their rivalry tilt with Georgia undefeated.

No. 2 Indiana (7-0)

The Hoosiers picked up maybe their biggest win in program history earlier this season, knocking off No. 3 Oregon on the road in Week 7 β€” Indiana's first top-5 road win ever β€” and followed it up with a 25-point victory over Michigan State and a 50-point drubbing of UCLA. Curt Cignetti's squad earned its highest rank in program history, and quarterback Fernando Mendoza has cemented himself in the Heisman race.

πŸ† PERFECTION: Every undefeated national champion since 1936

Navy (7-0)

The Midshipmen are the only undefeated remaining in the American, but they have a gauntlet over the second half of the season. Navy faces North Texas, No. 12 Notre Dame, No. 18 South Florida and Memphis in consecutive games before rival Army. It will be a tough road, but the Midshipmen certainly have an opportunity to build a strong resume.

No. 1 Ohio State (7-0)

The Buckeyes appear to be on track to compete for back-to-back national championships. First-year starter Julian Sayin looks to be settling in under center. They have just one ranked opponent left on their regular-season schedule against Michigan on Nov. 29, a team they are hoping to snap a four-game losing streak to.

No. 3 Texas A&M (7-0)

The Aggies are 8-0 for the first time since 1994 after routing LSU on the road. They add the LSU win to an impressive road win over Notre Dame, with two more potential SEC ranked road tests lying ahead in Missouri and Texas.
