🐻 UCLA walks off Oregon | FINAL: UCLA 4, Oregon 2
Oklahoma City delivered fireworks early Friday morning as Jessica Clements hit a two-out, two-run homer to send the Bruins to the winners' bracket. It was a dramatic final inning, as the Ducks tied it up 2-2 after a call at the plate was overturned due to obstruction, awarding Oregon the game-tying run in the top of the seventh.
The Bruins were down to their final out before extra innings, but Clements came through with UCLA's second two-run shot of the game for the win. Alexis Ramirez delivered the other moonshot in the bottom of the fourth inning. It was a chaotic opening day of the WCWS that featured a lightning delay, a lighting delay and two walk-off homers as Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and UCLA advanced to the winners' bracket.
Kaitlyn Terry delivered a strong performance in the circle for UCLA, going seven innings, allowing one run on four hits. Elise Sokolsky took the loss for Oregon after Lyndsey Grein was pulled after the fifth inning, allowing two runs on five hits.
