The Tigers have taken a 5-1 in the fourth, breaking the game open and ending Coastal Carolina starter Jacob Morrison's day.
The first four LSU hitters of the inning reached base: Jake Brown walked, Jared Jones singled to left, Luis Hernandez was hit by a pitch and Chris Stanfield ripped a two-RBI single to left.

The Chanticleers pulled Morrison after that, turning to left-handed reliever Hayden Johnson. It was the most runs Morrison had allowed all season.
🐯 LSU TIES IT ON OUTFIELD MISCUE | Top 3: CCU 1, LSU 1
The Tigers tied it in the top of the third on an RBI double from designated hitter Ethan Frey.
With two outs and a runner on second, Frey ripped a line drive deep into left field to left fielder Sebastian Alexander.
Getting a bad read and first step on the liner, Alexander couldn't recover in time to make the catch, sending it to the wall and scoring second baseman Daniel Dickinson.

Day 2️⃣ of MCWS finals is here
The second day of the MCWS finals has arrived, and there's a chance a national champion will be crowned by the end of the night.
Following the pitcher's duel from last night, LSU and Coastal Carolina could be in store for another today, with right-handers Tigers' Anthony Eyanson and the Chanticleers' Jacob Morrison. Morrison is 12-0 on the season with a 2.08 ERA and 102 strikeouts and Eyanson holds an 11-2 record with a 2.92 ERA and 143 Ks — the third-most in the country.
If the Tigers win, they secure their program's eighth championship title.

🔥 Kade Anderson throws complete game, shutting out CCU 1-0
The Tigers take Game 1 in the MCWS finals 1-0 behind a gem from LSU lefty Kade Anderson. He went a full nine innings, throwing 130 pitches with 10 strikeouts. This was only the third complete game in MCWS finals history.
Steven Milam delivered the only run of the game in the first inning, but it was enough to snap Coastal Carolina's 26-game winning streak with Anderson on the mound.
Coastal starter Cameron Flukey also delivered on the bump, going six with nine Ks and allowing four hits with one earned. The 6-foot-6 righty took his second loss of the season, falling to 8-2. His only other loss of the year was a 1-0 shutout to Texas State.
The nine hits tonight tie the mark for the lowest combined hits in an MCWS finals game in history. Coastal Carolina was 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position tonight.
In 2016, Arizona's JC Cloney tossed a complete game against Coastal, taking Game 1 of the MCWS finals. The Chanticleers went on to take the next two games to capture the 2016 title.
This was the first MCWS game since 1972 that neither team recorded a run after the first inning.
Coastal Carolina and LSU will face off in Game 2 tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. ET on ABC where the Chanticleers will attempt to force a decisive Game 3 on Monday night.
